Why these five strands
They are not school subjects. A household teaches hands and feelings long before it teaches literacy, and a child drilled on letters before they can hold a pencil learns mostly that letters are unpleasant.

Reading starts in the ear, not the eye. A child who can hear the first sound in a word is ready for the letter that makes it.

Some words are sounded out and some are simply known on sight. Both routes need practice, and they need it separately.

Counting is a school skill. Making sixteen rupees out of coins is a household one, and it is the one that lasts.

Handwriting is a muscle problem before it is a letter problem. Cutting, threading and tearing all pay into it.
Feelings and getting along·भावनाएँ और रिश्ते
A child who can name what they feel can ask for what they need. Everything else at school gets easier after that.
Age bands are a rough order, not a deadline. Children arrive at these in their own sequence, and a child who is late to one strand and early to another is the normal case rather than the exception. Nothing here is a diagnosis. If something worries you, ask a paediatrician rather than a website.
